Newest SEO Tips
Search engine optimization, or "SEO," is how search engines identify, document, and rank a website at any given time. The rules to SEO change every year, it seems, so for users trying to optimize their websites and give Google something to catalog, these are some very important tips about SEO that are relevant for 2015 and on.
Keep it simple
If a reader had the option to choose between reading an article on a website with a neutral, single shade as the background and clean, neat text and reading an article on a website with vibrant arrays of color and a less popular font, the reader would choose the former just about every time. Give the reader as little to look at as possible so that they can focus on reading the content in front of them.
Optimize for other search engines too
Google isn't the only search engine out there, although statistics do show that Google is the most popular search engine, with anywhere from 60-80% of all searches. However, that still leaves a chunk of 20-40% unaccounted for. Since it's already not as common for websites to specifically optimize for search engines other than Google, a lot of blogs find themselves the first of their niche to optimize for all search engines and get a heavier amount of traffic flow.
Get people to share and link constantly
If it's possible, start out by trying to find even just one or two reputable websites that are willing to link back to the original website, or websites willing to have guests post original content and link back to the site themselves. Also getting friends, family, and coworkers to share posts on social media or place links of the site across the web is an excellent form of marketing that takes little effort. Danny DeMichele, a renowned marketing consultant, has links and people sharing his content constantly, thanks to the fanbase he's built up over time.
It's hard to keep up with how fast SEO moves. Out of the phase of the Internet where all content was stuffed to the brim with keywords, search engine optimization has evolved into something spectacular now. It's up to every individual website owner if they want to take advantage of all that SEO has to offer.
